Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along

I have found this quilt along at Moose on the Porch Quilts blog. It sounds like A LOT of fun so lets see how it goes! Now I need to get a jelly roll!

Charity Quilt

I have finished the quilt I was making for a former co-worker. The quilt is to be put up for raffle or silent auction at her and her family's benefit golf tournament. All the proceeds will be donated to the Children's Hospital of Boston.

Here is a picture of the quilt.

And this is the quilt with the coordinating tote bag I made to go with it.

I am so excited to know that my blocks are in the mail to me!! Thanks again Kathleen for hosting this amazing swap!! I am looking forward to assembling all the blocks!

Charity Auction Quilt Progress

I have been a busy bee the past couple of days!! I have cut and sewn 36 blocks together for the Charity Auction quilt! It will be donated to a former co-worker to be auctioned off to benefit Children's Hospital of Boston. I am thrilled she asked me to make a quilt for this great cause! I am hoping to have the quilt top finished tomorrow or Saturday. I decided not to do a dissappearing 9 patch and instead used a pattern that I had never used before. I will post pictures when the quilt top is finished.

On a non-quilty note, our family has decided to be a host family for a pair of the Young American performers that will be holding a music outreach program at my daughters school next week. She is very excited we said yes!!

Thanks for stopping by!! :o)

Welcome!!

I would like to welcome those of you reading this!! I will start by saying I am new at blogging and have no idea really how it works!! I have joined a Red, White and Blue No Sew Quilt Block Swap, so what a better time to start a blog than now! I am REALLY excited, I have never done either a swap or blog before but I figured I would them both a try.

Let me tell you a bit about myself and my quilting experience. I have been quilting for about a year and a half but have been sewing since middle school and have been crafty most of my life. I have a dear friend, Angie, who has helped me in my quilting journey. I am very lucky to have her in my life! Angie and I met while we were stationed with our husbands in Alaska, almost 12 yrs ago!!! I am really excited to be able to virtual quilt with her tomorrow!! :o) My husband and I are still living the military life and loving everything it brings to our lives (which has been alot)!

I guess that is all for now!!
